Have you ever came across an old person and they tell you about things they would have done differently if they were in their youth? Yeah, don't wait until your death bed to see the light. If you are in your young, all your faculties are in check, and you are not disabled or in any way incapacitated, here are some thing I want you to know.

If you would just give me a moment of your time, I would like for listen to what I have to say. the aim of this post is to save the young people form heartache. Capitalize your time.

Here are 10 thing I wish someone told me:

NUMBER 1: STOP COMPARING YOUSELF

Just becouse someone appears to be doing better than you, doesn't mean they actually are. There so many people who are good at putting on an act. And I mean Oscar worthy acts. They have to put on a good show in order to stop themselves from falling apart.

You don't know what the next person is going through. Think about every time you ever said, "I wish I was [insert name]. [insert name]'s name is so easy." Whole time [insert name] is going through hell.

Stay in your lane and cut your coat according to your size. There is a reason why everyone isn't built the same. We all serve different purposes in life.

NUMBER 2: DON'T ALLOW DISRESPECT

Let me tell you something, people will continue to disrespect you as long as you allow it. The way you carry yourself and allow people to address you is very important.

Cut off all bullshit "friends" IMMEDIATELY.

NUMBER 3: ASK FOR HELP

You do not need to shoulder the burden alone. If you don't understand whhat's ahppening in school, raise up your hand and ask for help. Stop trying to do things alone in the name of "not wanting to be a bother." Forget that, bother people for help. One thing about it, people do not hesitate to ask you for help, so do not feel guilty for asking for help. At least if you don't get any help, you can say that you tried.

Do not try to pull a Hannah Baker (13 Reasons Why). Hannah did not tell the counselour anything. People were talking to Mr. Porter all crazy, whole time Hannah didn't tell him anything. She did not ask for help.

So I beg of you, ask for help and make your requests clear.

NUMBER 4: JUST BE A KID

If you are a virgin or simply aren't ready to engage in the act of s*x, DO NOT allow people to pressure you into thinking that it's lame that you are a virgin. It isn't lame. It's beautiful.

Especially, you highschoolers...please just focus on school. Stop trying to be grown too quickly. I promise when you crossover to the adult side you're going to wish you were a kid again.

Liquor isn't going anywhere. Sex isn't going anywhere.

Please just go to school and go to work (if you work). You gain nothing from having sex, and, or drinking liquor prematurely.

NUMBER 5: THE INTERNET NEVER FORGETS

I'm sure you don't care right now, but I need you to realise that later on in life you may find yourself needing a job. All jobs/schools do background checks on their potential candidates. As you're having fun, please do so responsibly.

Stay out of trouble.

Having fun means going to a carnival, not shoplifting or getting a DUI. Please be responsible. Any "friend" that encourages such nonsense, tell them "sayonara."

NUMBER 6: DON'T POISION YOURSELF

All this hukkah nonsense...let me tell you something, you hukkah warriors will cry. It seems like something cool and fun now but boy that thing is a silent killer.

Stay away from drugs. Stop smoking.

Eat clean and minimize your soda intake.

Remember, people aren't just lining up to offer up their organs. You can't buy a new lung or kidney on Amazon.

Take care of your body.

NUMBER 7: PICTURES ARE IMPORTANT

There is going to come a time where pictures may be the only thing you have a person. Do your best to create memories. Take pictures and save them. You'll cherish them later.

NUMBER 8: HOLD ON TO YOUR REAL FRIENDS

Real friends are EVERYTHING. Real friends wilol keep you in line and tell you the truth. Surround yourself with good people. Your crew matters.

NUMBER 9: BEING SMART IS COOL

Take your education seriously. You can party all you want just make sure you're at school. That piece of paper that says you accomplished four years of XYZ is important.

Being around dumb peopleis a fate I wish upon no one.

NUMBER 10: INVEST IN YOURSLEF

This isn't even about money. Take some time to learn what you can while you're still a sponge. Get into the gym and keep fit. Learn a new skill. Stack up your money while your parents still allow you to stay home with them. Set yourself up well for the future.
